Wordpress → Tuning up WordPress for your customers

If you've been using WordPress as your website engine for quite a long time, you probably know how to tune it up in many ways, using various plugins, to make it fit your needs.

But do you remember that WordPress also can be and should be tuned up to make users' interaction with your site as easy as possible, not to mention facilitating your own interaction with the site, so that you can communicate with your users easier? If you do, then you must be familiar with some of the following applications:

  1. The extended version of TinyMCE lets you spend less time on looking for various buttons — you can use the plugins to easily add any of them on the visual editor's toolbar.

  2. The WordPress plugin for adding rich-text widgets lets you add descriptions for sidebar widgets, so you will always know what they are used for.

  3. Drag-and-drop page management

  4. Wordpress Navigation List Plugin lets users tune up website navigation as they wish.

  5. Use the Adminize plugin to enable users to do certain things.

  6. The Admin Trim Interface plugin simplifies the admin panel, so you can moderate comments and answer questions more quickly.

  7. Expand the capabilities of the feedback form by using Contact Form 7 (define a few feedback forms, set up a CAPTCHA, and install the Akismet antispam plugin) and cforms II (modify some fields in the form, set up the redirect to be used following feedback submission, control spam messages, add widgets, etc.).

  8. Use Google Analyticator or Feed stats to let users access website statistics.

I liked this article the first time I read it. Back on October 14th. From Mirko at Designer-Daily. Nice job on the rewording though.
